WCG 2006 Grand Final - official discussionthread

This week, from the 18th to 22nd october, the finals of the World Cyber Games 2006 will be played. The games will happen in Monza (Italy) and there will be about 700 players from around the globe who qualified themself through their national finals of their countries. Over 450.000 US Dollar in total can be won by the players.
Of course Dawn of War is one of the games that will be played there. The 19 best players of the world will fight over a total of 43.000 US Dollar, the first place alone will win 25.000 Dollar.

Actually, i think the germans are quite strong. Phoenix and Left have very good chances to win this tournament, but Santis Orks are just damn crazy, i guess it'll be hard to beat him.

I wonder how good select will play. Haven't seen much of him lately.

I'd say Left and SeleCT have the best chances of beating Santiago, but I think Santiago will take it.
Then again, once he sits there at WCG, I think SeleCT will be ICE-COLD and damn much better than the I-beat-SeleCT-replays posted at Dowsanc.

I think Santi will only have problems against good sm or csm players like Youlian, Phönix or Dragooon.

Nah, I think not SM. He already showed what he can do vs Phönix and that was on a lazy day, even though Phönix put up a good show.

Dragooon is an awesome player but I seriously dont think he is near Santi's skill.

santis orks are amazing was everything.
but left, youlian, föni, dragooon, quanchi and carotte are damn strong currently... cant really judge select...
well it will be a hard fight

Like I said Santi will have problems against good sm players and he even had problems against a good ork and SeleCt.
Maybe he was too exicted.

wow, these results are interesting. Before the tourney i didn't rate SeLeCT that high because everyone said that Eldar won't be able to compete on such a torunament... I would like to know if actually plays eldar^^

I actually think he was nervous.. I mean comon he has rampaged through just about everyone until now..

Anyways, gogo Carotte, I root for him now that Santi is out.

Eugunus: Of course he plays Eldar, it's just a myth that Eldar are so weak.. They are very strong Tier 1 and Tier 2 they are good as well if played right.. Just look at Carotte, SeleCT and Left replays once they will be out.

I believe SeleCT is stronger tbh now that is really on.. SeleCT is a true progamer.. I don't talk about skill I talk about the fact that SeleCT is an experienced progamer and basicly lives playing.

Anyhow, the finals will be impressing, I cant wait to see the replays!
