Sorry on the date, I got it wrong, yes it is Friday Oct 26th... sorry for the mixup
Yes there will be more mod days depending on how many people we get out for this one!

What is Mod Day? It’s a scheduled day where everyone in the community gets together and plays a pre-selected mod with some Relic folks too.
Why? Well, to promote modding in the community, and a different way to play your favourite games.
Prizes? Why yes… I’m giving away some amazing Relic t-shirts. I’ll also be giving away a Dark Crusade posters signed by myself and the Lead Designer of DC. AND! Just to sweeten the pot… I’ll also be giving away some Relic stickers and a Relic shotglass! How do you win these? Just by participating… I’ll do a random draw at the end of the day and maybe award some prizes to people I see in the chat channels, etc.
So and without further ado… the mod we have chosen to play for our FIRST mod day is…
THE INQUISITION: DAEMONHUNT Mod, for Dark Crusade 1.2.
Friday, October 26th, from 12:00 pm noon until 1 pm PST (Pacific Standard Time).
MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE MOD BEFOREHAND!
This mod enables you to play a new race, the Daemonhunters. These are the troops of the Ordo Malleus, the branch of the Inquisition in charge of fighting the hordes of Chaos. The new race introduced in this mod is aimed at being balanced against the existing races in DC.

As some of you may know, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts is coming out this fall. We are having a closed community beta before the major Fileplanet beta. The new races will be the British and the Panzer Elite, for a total of 4 races with the Americans and the Wehrmacht.
It would be great to get some Dawn of War players in the beta!
I have 15 beta keys available for dow.de. If you're interested, please post in this thread and I will put all the names in a random picker and select 15 people. You have until Thursday, July 12th at noon PST to post in the thread.
Restrictions: You cannot participate in this if you are entered in the upcoming CoH tournament or if you are participating in any other Opposing Fronts beta contests. Keys are non-transferable and you may not sell or trade them. The key is for you and you alone.
Thanks!

Here we go!
"Earlier in April, another customer of the ISP hosting GameSpy's middleware backend services such as the ones used by Relic's Warhammer 40,000 RTS franchise was under several rounds of denial of service attacks spread over about 10 days. While combatting this attack, over this period, some parts of the world had intermittent connectivity to the GameSpy backend. As of 4/8/07, a routing change was made to resolve the problem until more permanent solutions can be implemented.
GameSpy was never directly under any DDOS attack, and GameSpy backend was never out of comission, although some connectivity was for some users. We consider this an unacceptable level of service for both our users and by our ISP and this whole event lead to a series of discussions an a senior executive level both at GameSpy/IGN Entertainment's end and Intelenet, our ISP partner in this, about our longer term options.
Any affected user is welcome to contact GameSpy's Developer Support Manager directly at jschuur@gamespy.com if they continue to experience connectivity problems. Please include ping and traceroute (tracert in
Windows) information for master.gamespy.com along with a description of the in-game error and where it occurs." -
Gamespy has been experiencing connectivity problems in some European and Asian regions due to some problems with their upstream provider. The issue was a denial of service attack on another customer of the same provider. The DDoS attack was not directed at any of the Gamespy servers.
Gamespy is working with their provider to resolve these issues. Some areas may still be affected and we apologize for any inconvenience.
Sorry guys!
The Relic Team

Please note that the Dark Crusade Gamespy ladders will be reset tonight between 7 pm PST and 9 pm PST.

Finally, some instructions to watch the replay for the tournament finals located here http://www.relicrank.com/bloggo/2007/03…omplement-this/
http://208.49.84.50/buggo/replayfix.zip (right-click save as)
Here are some instructions for watching the replays without a sync error:
Extract the zip file into the game’s root folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes).
This should put a new file in the path: WW2 / Data / Scar / WinConditions / VPTickerWin-Annihilate.scar
Afterwards, just delete the file to make sure the game is compatible with the retail version….
