A few for starters:
"general feedback and suggestions about dow.de" instead of "Criticism, praise and suggestions to dawnofwar.de"
keep tenderness in singular
"player market" instead of "player are searching players"sounds much better

I'm facing some trouble with changing my Avatar. No, not that huge, menacing and swordwielding incarnation of a bloodfisted eldar god of war.
Just that cute little picture of max. 150 by 100 pixels and max. 29-and-some-squished-snotlings-KB.
To be sure I tried it a couple of times (yesterday evening and just a few minutes ago): When trying to chance my picture the board tells me that the file exeeds the limits of 150x100 and 29.&§ KB. The picture definately does not exeed these limits. I can tell because a graphics-tool says so, windows says so AND the board itself said so some weeks ago, when I had the very same file uploaded as an Avatar. Thanks for reading,
Sagarion
P.S.:
Quotei see sopme german words , like "Neues Thema" and "Antworten"
To me everything looks fine, "reaply" and "new thread". But maybe it is because to two days of admin's hard work went by since you posted your complaint.

Last time I checked the boxes were still german in the PM-Box.
-
The icons are newly made so they weren't there as he complained.
Also you will find german pieces every now and then. Feel free to tell us where you found something (Like the "Newbie Treff" forum i'm going to change now)
Also i'll look into the avatar thing. I guess the KB limitation is just wrong.
Please give it another try, can't find anything unnusual. Anyway, i still raised the avatar size to ~40kb.
-
@ Avatar : I just tried it again, and still I am facing the very same problem. The KB-Limit is raised to 39.somewhat, but still he tells me my 23KB-File is to big or exeeds the dimensions of 150x100.
Could that be an individual problem of my comp or anything? Is anyone else complaining about that problem? -
150 pixels in width
100 in heigthshould work perfect. hmm, maybe try a smaller size in width. it stands exactly like that in the board options, so i have no clue what the problem could be. maybe upload your avatar here and i try it myself.
also, only jpg jpeg and gif are allowed
-
Here we go. It is 140 x 95 pixels now, at 24KB on HDD.
I am pretty sure THAT fits the limits. *g*
Yes please try to establish the picture as your Ava, in that way we can find out if it is a problem with my comp, my pic or with the board. (or maybe some of all! *g*)
Thanks

@ Sagarion
Strangly, i can't add it myself while i even changed the posible avatar soize to 1000x1000 pixel.
Anyway, an other avatar of mine with 150x100 works flawless O_o
Which leads me to the conclusion that the file might be corrupt somehow.
I'll open it with Gimp and save it again now, maybe that changes something.
Edit:
Tada. As strange as it sounds, but i only opened the file, saved it again and now it worked for me. Here is your "new" avatar. Try it yourself.

Thanks, finally it works! *hoooray*
But I don't really understand why the board doesn't take my JPEGs anymore. Especially those I had as an Avatar before. I'm not planning on bothering you everytime I want a new Avatar, which is not that seldom. Maybe I'll try to send them through paint or IrfanView... -
Even though the *.jpeg files are allowed, you should try *.jpg files instead, that may've been the problem.
-
Hmmm... As it seems Photoshop adds some kind of a tag or something to the jpegs when saving them. After opening and saving them with MSPaint they loose about 8 KB and suddenly work. But still, Photoshop did that before and the board accepted that before. *shrug* Anyways, thanks for your help with finding the source of that error.
