Every user of DawnofWar.de is required to read these rules!
Rule #1:
Before posting a new thread or reply, please use the search function. Simply click on the search button on the top of the board and go ahead, the search function is self-explanatory.
Rule #2:
The different sub forums are named after the topics they are about. If you still have trouble finding out what exactly they deal with, read the explanation below the titles. If you are still unsure, Rule #1 is in effect.
Rule #3:
Double posting and cross postings (post the same reply/topic in two or more forums) are not allowed on http://www.dawnofwar.de. Cross postings lead to confusion and split information, in addition at least one of these postings is in the wrong forum for sure. Plus topics won't get more interesting or important by posting stuff twice.
Rule #4:
Spam on http://www.dawnofwar.de is prohibited without exception! The following are considered spam:
- All postings with a single word
- All postings made only of smileys
- All postings consisting only of punktuation marks
- User trying to order other users; no hobby law enforcers needed
- All postings that have nothing to do with the topic! (e.g.:criticizing the spelling of an user)
- Postings without content like "I totally agree!"
Postings that meet one of these conditions will be deleted without comment. The spam rules are less strict in the newbie and fun sections.
Rule #5:
Topics have to have a meaningful title. It does not only ease the work of the http://www.dawnofwar.de team, it also helps people trying to help you to understand what it is about. Titles that are made for creating curiosity are not allowed either.
Wrong: 'Help', 'Looking for', 'Problem', 'Important'
Right: 'Problems with my video card or something'
One punktuation mark is enough in a title. Don't abuse the poor question and exclamation marks.
Rule #6:
Private discussions are not allowed on http://www.dawnofwar.de. If you want to talk to someone in private, use the PM (private message) feature, either on top of the board (PM-Box button) or below the post or in the profile of the user you want to talk to.
Rule #7:
Insults towards the members and the team of http://www.dawnofwar.de are not allowed. If you have questions about a certain topic or reply to something, do it in a mannered way. Keep in mind that behind every nickname is a real person.
Rule #8:
Advertising in any way is not allowed on http://www.dawnofwar.de. Only exception are fansites that match the content of the board.
Rule #9:
Pushing of topics (postings that are only done to make the topic look active again) are also not allowed on http://www.dawnofwar.de. You should have some patience and remember that not everyone is online 24h a day or knows about a problem. We still try to be as quick as possible. If you still haven't recieved an answer or it was not satisfactory, you are allowed to post again so your topic won't be forgotten.
Rule #10:
Don't dig out old and resolved threads. It is allowed to post something meaningful in an older thread though.
Rule #11:
The creation and use of smurfs (two or more accounts) is prohibited. The same goes for account sharing (two or more people using the same account or using the account on behalf of another, maybe banned user).
Rule #12:
Posts that violate asserted rights and laws are absolutely not allowed. This includes copy protection circumventions (noCD cracks), illegal downloads, racism, pornography and similar topics. This also counts for replays, posted pictures and signatures.
These kind of posts will be closed and/or deleted. Multiple postings will lead to a ban and might lead to legal actions.
In addition, links to websites that deal with this kind of stuff is also not allowed and will be dealt with the same manner.
Rule #13:
Pictures in your signature may not exceed 200 pixel in heigth and should have an acceptable size. You should also limit the amount of text, quotes and sayings, be reasonable.
Violations of these terms can lead to a warning, a temporary ban or a full ban. To avoid these problems, please read these rules and keep them in mind at all times, that's what they are there for.
Additions and information:
Rules are meant word-for-word and will be interpreted that way. Remember that every moderator, super-moderator and Administrator has the right to warn users that fail to abide the rules; administrators might even ban violators. Normally we warn a user at least once before any consequences will happen. But in case of major violations against Rule #12 we might ban the user instantly and might take legal actions. The same goes for grave insults; the thread will be closed but remain on the board for evidence.
If you think you were done injustice by a moderator, s-mod or administrator, so please notify the one in charge of the area it happened in. If it is something about your account, please contact one of the administrators.
The responsible authorities are:
ListoricEugenusMaximus
BoNeCrUsHeR
Please keep in mind that mods, s-mods and admins are humans too and they might have a bad day once in a while. However, if someone abuses his/her position on a regular basis, please notify one of the admins.
so long ,
your dawnofwar.de team
Addition:
constructive criticism and comments are always welcome.
