Howto get rid of Broadsides ?

    I just had a game IG vs. Tau. I had the honour to send Private Pile and his comrades into battle.

    The Tau attacked me with some kroot and some FW and his hero. I just in that moment had my first blazing fleabag out, driving him far back into his base. A chimera followed suit. Of course his infantry was totally helpless against a Hound and a Chimera. I believed: Aye, good one. Got him!
    Then suddenly three Broadsides stumbled out of his barracks and destroyed my tanks before I even could drive them away.
    He want's Sentinels? He gets Sentinels I thought. Not much later I saw 3 or 4 Sentinels downed without even killing one of his broads.
    Of course the game was basically over at that moment.

    What is your suggestion to get these frickin' Broad-Ass-Suits down? :rolleyes:

    I am far from being an IG-Player (to tell truth I played them because I chose "random" ) But I felt pretty helpless. Probably as helpless as his Kroot and FWs before. ;)

    Belial is right. Sentinels are AV and the BST is heavy infantry. A good counter can be priests but you have to make sure that they'll get to the broadside team before they are dead.

    Imho, IG has big problems with tau on open maps. And the Broad Side Team is one of the main reasons. Usually your opponent keeps them behind his lines of fire warriors so you can just hardly get through to them.
    Basilisks maybe the only good solution on tier 2 beside priests since they have an even bigger range and a good dmg against AV.

    assassin is a awesome counter for broadsides
    overall i think the assassin is a way to powerfull

    Thanks guys! Next Time I'll try the assassin, and a massive Guardspam with plasma ond grenade launchers to cover&conceal the two legged wraith of god.

    I found that when I'm the guard, either the Assassin. Great way of getting rid of any infantry that's in your way. Or go with the artillery.
