Dawn of War is in flux. The future brings drastical changes. Dark Crusade includes a completly new playstyle. The ESL overtakes the ESGL DoW Leagues and will soon start soon the very first DoWCL and follows the footprints of well known RTS-titles like Warcraft 3 and Starcraft. These elements just scream for new, strong structures around Dawn of War.
That's what Dawnofwar.de is hoping to do and so dares to go the big step towards an international website. As we already anounced before, dawnofwar.de does not want to give only the german speaking community the pleasure of shoutcasts, news, coverage and much more. The first step is done today with the release of Dawnofwar.de international. From now on, all visitors of dow.de have the choice between a german and an english version of the website. All you have to do is to select your language on the mainpage or on the website itself by clicking one of the flags.
However this is just the first step. Right now, the staff contains only members from the german scene. To reach our goal offering all features of the german page in english, we need you, to realize it. We are searching for active staff members for the areas of shoutcasts, newsposting and forum moderation. You can see on our jobpage, how to apply and what requirements to fulfill .
Here you got some statements about the expectations around dow.de goes international:
EugenusMaximus, Leader of dawnofwar.de:
"After a lot of work it's finally done. I think this is an importand step for the game since the international sites are to specialized on single content parts right now. With our strong partners THQ, ESL, Giga, UBZ or CND we got the perfect requirements to create a new portal, which the international community of Dawn of War hasn't seen yet.
If the community supports this project, there is no doubt that we will be able to reasonably improve the quality of the online gaming community!"
Listoric, Vice-Leader of dawnofwar.de:
"I just loved the idea right from the start and now we've made it. This step brings our beloved Dawn of War even further up into the RTS-Olymp and we try our best to make this the best trip of our lives."
ToT|Left, Team Captain of the Templars of Twilight and pariticipant of the WCG 2006 Grand Final:
"I've always been waiting for a site that is more a newssite than a replaybase. DoW.de developed to be more and more what I expect from such a page and I was in the lucky position to be german and able to understand everything. My brother tried to fill that role on an international level with our clanpage, but since it was a little bit fixed on tot players. So seeing dow.de going international is a great thing and I'm very much looking forward to it."
ToT|Right, Team Manager of the Templars of Twilight:
"I really enjoy the new concept of DoW.de and consider it a great step towards a bigger and brighter future for Dawn of War. Eugenus & Listoric are great guys that invest alot of time into this game and they do add alot to the community. Unfortunately until now, only the german community could really profit from that (maybe except Santiago), and im looking forward to see alot of international players."
Korbah, Creator of the DoWPro Mod:
"Well i think this is a very positive move for DoW.de, it opens an already strong and vibrant community to a wider audience so that everyone can enjoy the resurgence of activity with the release of DC."
Flail, Major League Admin of the ESL:
"I'm proud that DawnofWar.de has been our League Partner for Dawn of War in the Electronic Sports League since the very beginning. I'm not aware of any other website dedicated to our beloved Dawn of War series that is doing so much press coverage about DoW Tournaments and Leagues like these guys do. And, they're damn good at it."
ToT|Santiago, Member of the Templars of Twilight and participant of the WCG: 2006 Grand Final:
"I visited the site every now and then in its german "gestalt" and will do the same in the english "gestalt"
Ich bin ein Berliner!"
