Dann kannste ihn sehn.
LoL @ videoname ![]()
Extrem schlechter Teaser, selbst für son Projekt.
Na das kann ja was werden ... ><
Echt mieser Teaser.

mir hats schon gereicht!
bin gespannt <.<
starship troopers still best ![]()

Mich wundert ja richtig, dass hier noch keiner über den Satz "The greatest of them all are the Ultramarines" gestolpert ist.

Although I have been a longtime 40K gamer I actually had to sign up here to give my 2 cents worth after reading some of the frankly self-indulgent drivel being posted up.Firstly, a teaser is actually supposed to do something none of you have mentioned; develop a brand association. The simple fact is movies cost a lot of money and if all of you die hard fans went out and bought ten copies each I bet even a low-budget film would struggle to break even. What this trailer really is, even if GW wouldn't want to admit it, is a calling card to lots of people who have never played the game before or have little association with it. It's their money that really matters unfortunately, because if you want WH to have sequels with bigger budgets and more production value it's going to have to become a far bigger and more popular brand internationally than it is amongst the mainstream.
In terms of the animation sure it's not the best, but what did you expect? This isn't a studio film, it's probably a fairly low budget project for a fairly small franchise by international standards. This isn't Spiderman or Disney. This is a grim and dark universe with a huge mythology behind it and characters who are frankly not particularly good for cinema. Eight foot war machines are difficult to turn into compelling protagonists and so making a WH movie for a large audience is going to be difficult.
GW and whoever is making this has gone for the UMs because they're one of the first ports of call for new gamers and a decent way to introduce the franchise without scaring people off. This is a big first step for GW and I'd imagine they want to produce more films. It would have made no sense to start with some difficult, peculiar chapter dissociated from the common thread of 40K. They may not be the most interesting chapter but we've all come across them and they're a necessary stepping stone into the larger world.
Unfortunately die hard, maniacal fans are probably the biggest hurdle in marketing this film. GW probably didn't want to release anything more than a single shot because the fanbase would have torn it to shreds immediately: "didn't like the lighting"/"not sure about the characters"/"didn't like the voices" etc. What GW need to do is release something simple but innocuous, like this teaser, let the brand stand up on its own two feet and then release more detail lest the die hards rip the movie to shreds on the net before it's even had a chance.
This teaser wasn't particularly fantastic but it did the job and, to the vast majority of people who will end up seeing it, it will tease. This movie is very likely, by necessity, going to be made for far larger an audience than the fanboys. That means introducing the larger and more difficult concepts and ideas gradually. A space marine, and one with the duty of a UM, is an easy concept to graps. If you start clouting people over the head with Space Wolves and Salamanders and this and that they'll be put off.
The Star Trek teaser was more of a template for this. All that did was set out to re-establish the brand and make it palatable to those who thought it was for geeks, die hards and trekkies. Sound familiar? GW have to do the same thing for Warhammer because unfortunately the majority of the wide world see it as some impenetrable fanboy fantasy full of spotty kids and nerds. Harsh but true. Movies have to make a lot more money than board games or expansion packs. Once you enter the world of films you're no longer dealing with your fanbase, but everybody else. That's the economy of film unfortunately.
Look guys, Warhammer is an instructional manual, supporting documents, tabletop and plastic miniatures. The world is inside your head. That's why people get so defensive over it, I understand, I've done it too. But at the end of the day it's glorified Risk to most people. It's the collective spirit of fans which has made WH but also, in some ways, broken it too. Lighten up and accept the movie is probably going to be a slightly watered down, easy to grasp version of what we're all used to, because that's what movies are. But it won't ruin your games or diminish from your own concept of the world.
There is no such place as the 40k universe. A truly canon, universal, homogenous approach to the universe is impossible. It is what you make it and movies by definition have to dictate some things you have differently in your head. You might as well just be happy you're going to have something to watch and probably see some cool stuff you've only been able to imagine before.
What did you expect? I don't ever recall anybody suggesting this was going to be much more than a vague image or two from the film. All I heard for the last few months was people saying "I just want to see a Space Marine" and now they have everybody is saying "well, it was just a Space Marine!". But GW have succeeded. They've stirred the film up for the fanboys, for better or worse, but you were likely always going to watch it anyway. For the neutrals they've tantalised with a vision of this new world without giving anything away.
Finally, shouldn't people be positive and at least be excited that the teaser tells us this will be out in 2010? I thought it was at least a year or so away so the fact we might have to wait only four or five months is exciting. I'm sure it won't be everything I've hoped for but I'm mature enough these days to realise nothing ever would be.
At the end of the day it was a decent enough teaser with good voice over, nice dark, brooding music and an interesting visual look. Sure this might not be the best looking film but our world is usually played with plastic, painted models; it's a step up from that at least! For most die hards this film will never be enough. GW have probably figured you lot out a long time ago and given up really trying to do things for your sakes. This is for people who understand film is a new medium for GW and are willing to take it on its own terms.
zuviel Englisches blablablub..

QuoteTo be honest, when I first heard there was going to be a Space Marine movie, I hoped they'd go down the "300" in space path. A few choice ultra-hardcore real-life actors in a sea of bluescreen, wading through blood with the only memorably dialogue being meme-tastic lines.
You know it would have been epic.
Bruce Willis with hair for the Emperor.
