Free For All -> Jeder gegen Jeden

-
kommt eigentlich noch eine vernünftige lobby?
-
-
Vernichtung - (normal)
Kontrollgebiet - 70% der Ress punkte halten
Strategischer Sieg - Strategische Ziele halten
Ökonomischer Sieg - hat jemals jemand damit gewonnen? 100000 ress sammeln oder so
Sudden Death - ein LP vom Gegner runterziehen, gewonnen
Assasinate - Hero killenwas vergessen?
)
)

QuoteThe ESL’s Razer Series continues with the qualifying events with Limonad being the latest player to earn a spot in the big show. He won the qualifier that was held this weekend, which again featured Umpire and a best of three series that went the distance. Limonad won two games to one, and you can read a brief interview with him here as well as see more results from this weekend’s event. The next qualifier will take place tomorrow, more information on how you can get involved can be found here.
Don’t think you’d stand a chance in a competitive series like that? New to the game and looking for some help? GameReplays.org has started up a Mentee/Mentor project for Dawn of War II that pairs a player of lower skill together with a veteran player. The idea is to run some practice matches to help teach some of the finer points of the game to less experienced players. It’s a great way to learn, and you have until August 18 to sign up as either a Mentee or Mentor if you’re interested in helping out.
QuoteWith the recent release of our Dawn of War II World Builder, a flurry of map creation has been going on in the community. In addition to brand new maps, several long time fans of the game have recreated their favorite maps from the original Dawn of War game, and Sturmtruppen has been contacting map makers to include them in a map pack for DOW II. The map pack currently contains twenty-seven maps from various authors and is available for download from FileFront, and playing on them is a very simple process of running the installer and then firing up the game. Thanks very much for all your work Sturm, and to all of the map makers involved.
Relic Designer Sacha Narine was checking out the map pack on the weekend and posted some tips for map makers in the thread that everyone might benefit from. If you’re going to try your hand at map making, give them a read! He’s logged more than a few hours in the World Builder.

I can't believe we've already got a map pack like this. Awesome work!I've only played skirmishes on five or six of the maps, but I love seeing the new environments and quality remakes. Kasyr and Fangbreaka are totally sweet.
A few notes of constructive criticism:
- I noticed certain places where squads are firing through terrain. If you make a wall or barrier by raising terrain, you need to surround it with move_shot_blocker objects to prevent squads from firing through the terrain. I believe those objects are located in the "gameplay" folder. You can put them in a spline to make shot-blocking walls.
- One or two of the maps have a single entrance into each player's base. Particularly for 1v1 maps, it's important to have multiple paths into and out of a base. With only one entrance, it's possible for your opponent to camp outside your base and be a jerk.
- Be careful about placing the base-defense turrets behind the base structure. If they're too far back, the enemy will be able to advance into your base and kill healing/reinforcing squads. (A.K.A. Only YOU can prevent spawn-camping.)
- Always leave a good margin of non-playable area on the outside of your map. It looks weird when the map just vanishes into oblivion beyond the playable area. If your map has a 256x256 playable area, make the total area 384x384 or larger.
- Try not to resize splats or textures too far beyond their "optimal" size. If you stretch them too much, they'll look blurry and gross.
- Be careful with grass! It's tough to make large patches of grass look natural. Use sparingly, in tandem with flora/plant objects, shrubs, trees, etc.
Anyway, I'm really impressed. Keep it up!
